Terms of Service
Last updated: June 12, 2026
These terms cover what you can expect when you commission custom music from Seram Sound, and what I ask of you in return. They're meant to be clear and fair — not full of fine print. Every project also comes with its own written agreement, and where that agreement differs from these terms, the agreement wins.
Services
Seram Sound provides original, custom music composition and production for film, documentary, branded content, and other short-form work. The exact deliverables, format, and timeline for your project are defined in your project quote and agreement.
Quotes & project scope
Each project is quoted individually based on its length, complexity, timeline, and licensing needs. The quote you approve defines the agreed scope. Work that falls outside that scope — additional cues, added length, or expanded usage rights — may be quoted separately before it proceeds.
Payment
A 50% deposit is required before composition begins, with the remaining balance due upon final delivery. Final files are released once payment is complete. Deposits cover work already underway and are non-refundable once composition has started.
Revisions
Up to two rounds of revisions are included in every quote so we can refine the score until it serves your edit. Further revisions, or changes that go beyond the original creative direction, can be added at an agreed rate.
Timelines
Delivery timelines are set per project and built around your deadline — a short spot moves quickly, while a longer-form score needs more time. Timelines assume timely feedback and materials from you; delays on either side may shift the delivery date. I'll always communicate clearly if a schedule needs to change.
Usage rights & ownership
On final payment, you receive a license to use the delivered music for the project and usage scope described in your agreement. Unless your agreement states otherwise, I retain authorship and ownership of the underlying composition and master recordings. If you need broader or exclusive rights, we'll define and price that up front.
Confidentiality
I treat unreleased projects as confidential and won't share work-in-progress publicly before your release. If your project requires a non-disclosure agreement, I'm happy to sign one. I'd love to feature completed work in my portfolio once it's public — but only with your okay.
Limitation of liability
I take pride in delivering work that fits your project, but I can't guarantee specific commercial outcomes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seram Sound's liability for any claim related to a project is limited to the amount you paid for that project.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated occasionally; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. The terms in effect when you commission a project are the ones that apply to it.
